We've all said it: If ever there was a place where processes need to be improved, it's our government! The reality is working for the federal government, or even state government, can be quite a challenge for a process improvement expert. Typical objectives like cost reduction, speed, efficiency and quality in private industry are too often deprioritized by our government institutions. Political agendas, consensus decision making and risk adverse leaders emerge as barriers to process improvement initiatives.
