DESIGN FOR SIX SIGMA DEPLOYMENT

Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) is a structured method to improve the functional quality of a product or process. Beginning in the late 1990s, AIT integrated numerous tools and processes into a coherent methodology. The tools were developed independently by various practitioners over many decades. Now, the methodology is somewhat common across industry. What makes AIT unique is application, customization and integration.
In addition to being experts in the tools and methodology, we identify which elements of Design for Six Sigma will be most powerful for any particular company. We know from our experience that our clients want their design teams to produce products that customers will value and also want designs that can be produced with available manufacturing processes. Beyond the basics, our diagnostic methods identify differences in objectives for Design for Six Sigma. Our offering extends from classroom teaching to project execution. For some design topics, we will lead and facilitate teams to do the actual design work, applying tools they have learned in lessons sufficient to get started on the activity. For highly analytical topics, we might emphasize class time and exercise in conjunction with application to project work.
