BUSINESS LEADERSHIP SUPPORT
Strategic Organization Design

It's no mystery that almost every process in a business is enabled by people, and in today's environment, most processes are also enabled by information technology.
With many Business Process Reengineering or Lean Six Sigma projects, it's quite common to make adjustments in the organization design and/or the information systems that enable a process as part of the project execution. But in some circumstances, the business leadership may determine a fairly significant organization restructuring must take place PRIOR to a process improvement initiative. Typically, this need occurs because the organization lacks a much needed focus on a critical business process.
AIT utilizes a variant of its Value Chain Transformation (VCT) methodology to orchestrate reorganization initiatives when this need arises. Our tag line in these efforts is "Process Before People." In simple terms, if people enable process, then no single person should be moved until the As-Is process landscape of an organization is fully understood, resource requirements are determined, and the To-Be organization designed to satisfy the process needs. Critical business processes should drive the need for organization focus, i.e. Process Before People.
If you're unclear about the drivers behind your reorganization needs, AIT can help you get clarity by preempting the reorganization initiative with an Organization Assessment. This assessment process uses candid one-on-one interviews with a broad cross-section of the organization to get candid, direct feedback into the hands of the Reorganization Design Team and the Steering Team. AIT, both qualitatively and quantitatively, summarizes these interview results so everyone clearly understands organization opportunities and priorities, which we refer to as the collective "Voice of the Organization."
